History
Motorcycle production first began in China in 1951 when the People's Liberation Army began producing a 500cc motorcycle.
Motorcycle production in China picked up with several factories copying motorcycles already in production. Copied motorcycles invariably lack the quality of the original, and it was not long before Chiense motorcycles gained a reputation for being poor quality and unreliable.
Modern Chinese motorcycles are not just copies however, the Chinese factories are investing more and more into research and development and are now starting to produce unique and high quality machines that not only rival the big Japanese four, but in some cases surpass them.
